Microsoft released a high importance update today for Microsoft Teams.

The update comes from an original posting from January 17, 2020, for a Plan for Change.

New Feature for Microsoft Teams "Cross Channel Posting'

Your end-users will soon be able to edit the content and channel distribution of a Microsoft Teams message after it has been posted. This feature does not apply to mobile.
Microsoft will be gradually rolling this out at the end of February 2020 with the completion sometime around March 15, 2020.

When using the Teams desktop app or Teams on the web, your users will see an option to edit a message and change how it has been cross-posted.

Private Channels in Teams

Remember when Microsoft Teams launched a few years ago?

One of the items I thought was missing at the time was the ability to take private teams and from the team have private areas just for certain people. How many times do you have something HR or Accounting related and didn't need the information to be shared with everyone? We didn't want to create extra teams just for that purpose as we would have hundreds of teams.

Ever have a conversation or chat you wanted to go back and review?

Microsoft Teams has a way for you to do this very thing.

Its called bookmarking conversations or saving chats from within the UI.

This would be the best way to achieve this.

Now you can fall back in time and retrieve messages.

Microsoft Teams and Urgent Messages

Microsoft Teams is getting a new feature this month.

This is from the Message Center in Office 365, but in case you do not have access to this information here it is.

Often wonder what can guests do while in Microsoft Teams?

Other things that guests can do is participate in channels, conversations, chats, and meetings; they also can share files in channels, add new channels and use the Wiki.

So to be a guest an email address must be used to invite the user. Once the guest is invited to join your team they can start to interact with Microsoft Teams and its members of the team.

Here are some of the items guests can do once they join:

Wondering what changed, was updated or is being released in Microsoft Office 365?

We thought listing the items out would help to identify what had been communicated each week from Microsoft so you don't have to dig through weeks worth of updates. Will start posting these each moving forward.

Feature update: Updating capabilities in the SharePoint admin center.

We’re updating capabilities in the SharePoint admin center. We'll begin rolling this feature out soon.  This does not impact Office 365 subscriptions in GCC.

How do you set up meetings with outside or guest users with Microsoft Teams?

Most people use Microsoft Teams by adding meetings right from Outlook or from the client itself.

Create a Microsoft Teams Meeting

So basically anyone that has an email address can attend these meetings, which is very useful for users not in your organization.

How do we work on a document or say a diagram from Visio with the group or team?

Microsoft Teams allows you to upload a document into a Teams channel and collaborate on the document in real time. Shown below is a Visio file uploaded to a channel and a conversation talking about the diagram.
